Good News #21: Because of God’s Love Towards Us, He Sacrificed All Our Sins in Jesus’ Death; Let’s Praise Him for We Are Already Forgiven!
Religion teaches people to recall (unconfessed) sins and confess them to God as if they’re doing God a favor.
Did you know that noone CAN fully confess all their sins? Most of us confess violations against the ten commandments and think we have confessed it all when we do so.
But did you know that being cowardly (fear) is a sin?…
that unbelief is a sin?…
that worrying is a sin? (a combination of fear and unbelief… you fear the future because you don’t believe God will take care of you)…
they are sins…
The Lord said in Revelation 21:8…
“But the COWARDLY, UNBELIEVING, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
No one person can fully confess all their sins which is why God does not demand it INSTEAD He asks that we confess we are sinners and confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead and we will be saved [Romans 10:9].
When we are saved…born again in the Spirit, we are then instructed to FIX OUR EYES ON JESUS, The Author and Finisher of our faith [Hebrews 12:2]… NOT on Jesus, ourselves and our sins…
Because it is only in… us, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror THE GLORY OF THE LORD, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord [2 Corinthians 3:18]… NOT on the glory of the Lord, ourselves and our filth…
The gospel is that the forgiveness of all your sins (past, present, future) have been put in effect the moment you confessed Jesus as Lord and believe in Him. From then on, God remembers your sins and lawless deeds no more.
Now, for your actions and behaviours to align to your new identity, you need to get fixed on Jesus on whom your forgiveness comes from and behold His glory so that your actions and behaviours get transformed to reflect Him…
The gospel is all about Jesus, what He did and none about us. God gave and effects 100% forgiveness through Jesus… not through our finite effort of recalling and confessing sins over and over again…
The gospel is Jesus.
