Day 10: Jesus, Your Name is Power!

As ambassadors for Christ here on earth, we represent a kingdom that has no end, a kingdom that will last until eternity and beyond. But that kingdom is already in existence in the present – in the here and now, such that when we call upon the name of our King, Jesus Christ, every knee should bow and every tongue should confess that He is Lord, God’s Begotten Son!

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:10-11 (NKJV)

Why is this important to know for Christ-believers? Because as Jesus’ representatives here on earth, we have been given authority over all things, including over the enemy. In fact, because Jesus already defeated the foe by His suffering and death on the cross, we have been given the mandate to enforce what He’s already accomplished. It is a blood-bought inheritance freely given to the heirs and joint-heirs in Christ.

As a practical application, we use His name to rebuke the enemy. We use His name to declare victory over situations, troubles and circumstances. We use His name to speak the resurrection power over dead areas of our life. We use His name to pray. And we use His name to ask anything from Him, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Jesus said, “And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.”

John 14:14 (NKJV)

Friends, we have a God whose name alone is powerful! Be encouraged, that whatever situation, trouble or circumstance you’re facing today, by just calling the Name above all name, help is readily available. And our God is able and willing to help; we just need to humble ourselves and ask Him for help!
