Good News #332: I Am Always Comforted by This Truth: Jesus’ Grace and Favor for My Life is FOREVER!
Whether we admit it or not, we are given to (or are easily entrapped in) the mindset that God’s goodness towards us is conditional, where we think that it stops when we stop doing a specific list of things and it resumes when we do them.
Yet, the bible is clear — His favor is for life.
In other words, His favor lasts a lifetime and also means His favor administers life to us, not death.
His favor is always available to us and for us.
So when it seems like His favor is not manifesting in our lives, the question to ask then is whether we have stopped drawing from it and receiving it… and not whether God is withholding His favor from us.
The availability of His favor is not the problem. His word says His favor is for life.
It’s just like electricity. It is always present in the powerlines, but we will never get a lightbulb to light up when we don’t switch it on. This means we have a part to play. This means we have to cooperate.
God’s hand is always extended to us with His favor… we cooperate by humbling ourselves and admitting we need His favor and then receive from Him.
He will never force His goodness upon anyone who doesn’t want it… because coercion is not love…
And God is love.
The gospel is this — Just as The Lord Jesus is eternal, His favor is eternal.
The favor of The Lord has no expiration date.
You can always draw from it every. single. time.
