Risen Life Day #14: Power Has Come
“All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak… as the Spirit enabled them.” — Acts 2:4 (NIV)

THE JOURNEY
Luis had always struggled with fear of speaking.
In meetings, he stayed quiet. In group settings, he second-guessed himself. Even when he knew the answer, he hesitated, afraid of being wrong or judged.
But one day, something unexpected happened.
At a community outreach event his church was hosting, a situation arose where someone needed to step forward and pray publicly for a group of people.
No one moved.
Luis felt his heart race.
Not me, he thought.
But the feeling didn’t go away.
Instead, it grew stronger.
Before he could talk himself out of it, he stepped forward. His voice trembled at first, but as he continued, something shifted. The words flowed—not rehearsed, not perfect, but real.
Afterward, several people came up to him, saying how much that moment meant to them.
Luis walked away stunned.
That didn’t feel like him.
That felt like something greater working through him.
For the first time, he realized that courage wasn’t something he had to manufacture.
It was something God could supply.
Heart of the Matter
Acts 2 marks a turning point in history.
The disciples who once hid behind locked doors are now standing in public, boldly declaring the message of Christ.
What changed?
The Holy Spirit came.
They were filled.
And everything shifted.
Fear turned into boldness.
Silence turned into proclamation.
Uncertainty turned into clarity.
The same people who once scattered now stood united and empowered.
This is the fulfillment of what Jesus promised.
The resurrection was not the end—it was the beginning of a new kind of life, one fueled by divine power.
Here is the dynamic of the Risen Life:
You love God by making yourself available, even when you feel inadequate.
You step forward in faith, trusting that God will meet you there.
He loves you back by filling you with His Spirit, enabling you to do what you could never do on your own.
The power of the Risen Christ is not just for salvation—it is for transformation and mission.
The disciples didn’t suddenly become more talented.
They became empowered.
And the same Spirit that filled them is available to you.
Faith in Action
God often releases power when we step out in faith.
The Challenge:
Identify one situation where fear has been holding you back from stepping forward.
It could be:
• Speaking up
• Praying for someone
• Taking initiative
• Sharing your faith
• Leading in a situation
Write this declaration:
“I don’t have to be enough—God is my strength.”
Then take one small step today.
Don’t wait for confidence.
Move in obedience—and trust that power will meet you there.
Prayer for the Day
Risen Lord, thank You that You did not leave me to live this life in my own strength. You promised power through Your Spirit, and today I receive that promise. Where I feel weak, be my strength. Where I feel afraid, give me boldness. Help me to step forward in faith, trusting that You will enable me in the moment I need it. Fill me with Your Spirit so that my life reflects Your power and Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
