For I will look on you favorably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm My covenant with you.
Leviticus 26:9

Fruitfulness and growth in this life come from the Lord and it comes when the Lord looks on you with favor.

Human effort cannot produce much without the Lord’s favor upon it. It will only be stressful, laborious and without much result. The Lord’s favor is everything.

Proverbs 10:22 [JPS] puts it this way — “It is the blessing of the Lord that enriches, and no toil can increase it.”
The Lord’s favor makes one fruitful, prosperous and a recipient of the bounty of His covenant.
