Risen Life Day #27: Nothing Hidden
“You have not lied just to human beings but to God.” — Acts 5:4 (NIV)

THE JOURNEY
Victor looked like he had it all together.
He was active in church, respected by others, and known for his generosity. From the outside, everything seemed aligned—faith, actions, reputation.
But beneath the surface, there was a quiet compromise.
It wasn’t something obvious.
Just small things.
A truth slightly adjusted.
A motive slightly skewed.
A desire to be seen a certain way.
Over time, the gap between who he appeared to be and who he really was began to widen.
And with that gap came something unexpected:
Unease.
Victor found it harder to pray honestly.
Harder to feel connected.
Harder to experience peace.
One day, while reading Acts 5, he came across the story of Ananias and Sapphira.
It stopped him.
They weren’t condemned for giving too little.
They were confronted for pretending.
For presenting something outwardly that didn’t match reality.
Victor sat quietly as the realization settled in:
God wasn’t asking for perfection.
He was asking for honesty.
That day, Victor made a different choice.
Instead of maintaining the image, he chose to align his life with truth.
And slowly, the weight of pretending began to lift.
Heart of the Matter
Acts 5 presents a sobering contrast to the unity and generosity of Acts 4.
Ananias and Sapphira wanted to appear fully committed—without actually being fully surrendered.
They gave—but not honestly.
They presented—but not truthfully.
They acted—but not authentically.
The issue wasn’t the amount.
It was the integrity.
The Risen Life is not just about power, unity, and grace.
It is also about truth.
Because resurrection life cannot thrive where there is hidden compromise.
Here is the dynamic of the Risen Life:
You love God by choosing integrity—aligning your private life with your public life.
You refuse to live in pretense or hide behind appearances.
He loves you back by giving you freedom, clarity, and peace that come from living in truth.
Integrity removes the weight of pretending and restores genuine connection.
God is not impressed by image.
He is drawn to authenticity.
The early church was powerful—not because they looked perfect—
but because they lived truthfully.
And truth brings freedom.
Faith in Action
Integrity begins with honesty.
The Challenge:
Take a moment for personal reflection.
Ask yourself:
• Is there an area where I’m presenting something that isn’t fully true?
• Am I trying to maintain an image instead of living authentically?
Write down one area where you need to realign.
Then pray:
“Lord, help me live in truth, not appearance.”
If needed, take a step toward honesty:
• confess to God
• speak to someone you trust
• make a correction where necessary
Write this declaration:
“I choose truth over image.”
Prayer for the Day
Risen Lord, You see me completely—nothing in my life is hidden from You. Thank You that You don’t call me to perfection, but to truth. Forgive me for the times I have tried to present something outwardly that doesn’t match what is inside. Help me to live with integrity, aligning my heart, my words, and my actions. Remove any desire to impress and replace it with a desire to be real before You. Thank You that in truth, there is freedom. In Your name, Amen.
