Risen Life Day #23: Unstoppable Faith

“When they saw the courage of Peter and John… they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”Acts 4:13 (NIV)

THE JOURNEY

Andre didn’t expect resistance.

When he first began living out his faith more openly, things felt natural. Conversations flowed. Opportunities appeared. He felt confident and encouraged.

But then things shifted.

A coworker made a sarcastic comment about his beliefs.
A friend pulled away after a spiritual conversation.
An online post he shared sparked criticism.

Suddenly, what once felt easy became uncomfortable.

Andre found himself hesitating.

Maybe I should tone it down.
Maybe I’m being too much.
Maybe it’s not worth the tension.

One night, he opened his Bible and read Acts 4.

Peter and John had just healed a man.

Instead of celebration, they were confronted. Questioned. Pressured to stop speaking about Jesus.

Andre paused.

This wasn’t supposed to happen.

They were doing good.

Yet opposition came anyway.

Then he read their response.

They didn’t back down.

They didn’t compromise.

They stood firm.

And Andre realized something he hadn’t fully understood before:

Opposition isn’t a sign you’re doing something wrong.

Sometimes, it’s a sign you’re doing something right.

Heart of the Matter

Acts 4 marks a turning point.

The early believers move from favor (Acts 2) into resistance.

Peter and John are questioned by authorities.

They are challenged.
They are pressured.
They are warned.

But instead of retreating, they respond with boldness.

The leaders take note of something striking:

These men had been with Jesus.

That was the difference.

Not education.
Not status.
Not strategy.

Presence.

The Risen Life does not remove opposition.

It strengthens you through it.

Here is the dynamic of the Risen Life:

You love God by standing firm in your faith, even when it costs you comfort or approval.
You choose truth over acceptance and conviction over convenience.

He loves you back by giving you courage that cannot be shaken by external pressure.
The more you walk with Him, the more His presence becomes evident in you.

Faith that is never tested is rarely strengthened.

But faith that stands firm becomes unmistakable.

The early believers didn’t blend in.

They stood out.

Not because they tried to—

but because they had been with Jesus.

Faith in Action

Faith grows stronger under pressure.

The Challenge:

Identify one area where you feel pressure to shrink back in your faith.

It could be:

• staying silent when you should speak
• compromising your values
• avoiding uncomfortable truth
• seeking approval over obedience

Ask yourself:

“What would I do if I was not afraid?”

Write this declaration:

“I will stand firm because I have been with Jesus.”

Then take one step of courage today.

Stand. Speak. Stay true.

Prayer for the Day

Risen Lord, thank You that You give me strength not only in moments of peace, but also in moments of pressure. I confess that I sometimes shrink back when my faith is challenged or misunderstood. But today, I choose to stand firm. Fill me with courage that reflects Your presence in my life. Help me to remain faithful, even when it is uncomfortable or difficult. Let my life be a testimony that I have been with You. Thank You that because You are alive, my faith can remain unshaken. Amen.

VICTORY Note
