Risen Life Day #16: When One Becomes Many

“Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.”Acts 2:41 (NIV)

THE JOURNEY

Kevin never thought his small act would matter.

He wasn’t leading a ministry. He wasn’t speaking on a stage. He simply made it a habit to check in on people—sending a message, offering encouragement, sometimes praying with someone quietly over the phone.

One afternoon, he reached out to a former coworker, Mia, who had been unusually quiet online.

“Hey, just wanted to check in. How are you really doing?”

That simple message opened a door.

Mia shared that she had been struggling deeply—feeling lost, overwhelmed, and unsure about life. Kevin listened, encouraged her, and shared how his faith had helped him through similar seasons.

They continued talking over the next few weeks.

Eventually, Mia started attending church.

Months later, she gave her life to Christ.

But the story didn’t stop there.

Mia began inviting friends.
Those friends brought others.
And slowly, a ripple effect began.

One message.
One conversation.
One act of obedience.

It multiplied.

Kevin realized something powerful:

The Risen Life is not just meant to be experienced.

It is meant to spread.

Heart of the Matter

Acts 2 doesn’t just describe a powerful moment—it describes the beginning of a movement.

After Peter preached, thousands responded.

Three thousand lives were changed in a single day.

But behind that moment was something deeper:

• a group of believers who were filled with the Spirit
• people willing to speak boldly
• hearts ready to respond

The resurrection didn’t stop at the empty tomb.

It continued through transformed lives.

And those lives began to multiply.

This is the nature of the Risen Life:

It is not contained.

It expands.

Here is the dynamic of the Risen Life:

You love God by being faithful in small, personal acts of obedience.
You don’t underestimate the impact of a conversation, a prayer, or a moment of encouragement.

He loves you back by multiplying what you offer.
God takes what seems small and uses it to reach more people than you could ever imagine.

The disciples didn’t plan to reach thousands in one day.

They simply obeyed.

And God did the multiplying.

Your role is not to produce results.

Your role is to be available.

Because in the Kingdom of God:

One life can become many.

Faith in Action

Multiplication often begins with one simple step.

The Challenge:

Think of one person you can reach out to today.

• someone who may be struggling
• someone who needs encouragement
• someone who may be open to a conversation

Send a message.

Make a call.

Start a conversation.

Don’t overthink it.

Just be genuine.

Write this declaration:

“God can multiply what I offer.”

Then trust Him with the outcome.

Prayer for the Day

Risen Lord, thank You that Your power doesn’t stop with me—it flows through me to others. Help me to be faithful in the small moments and simple acts of obedience. Give me a heart that sees people the way You do. Use my words, my actions, and my life to bring hope to those around me. And remind me that even when I feel like what I offer is small, You are able to multiply it in ways I cannot see. Thank You that the resurrection is still changing lives today. Amen.
