Good News #190: By Hearing and Receiving the Gospel of Jesus Christ, My Spirit, Soul and Body is Built Up and Sanctified!

The human being is a tripartite being.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 mentions of it this way:
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify YOU COMPLETELY; and may YOUR WHOLE SPIRIT, SOUL, and BODY be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. [emphases mine]

When all these three parts are sound, the entire person experiences an integrated life…where there is soundness and wholeness in its entirety.

Many people are in pursuit of wholeness in the body. Some are in pursuit of wholeness in the soul (mind). Some in pursuit of awakening in spirit. Some a combination of two or all three…and they go to great lengths in this pursuit… some even going to remote places to do so…

Yet God had made the integration of the entirety of a person — spirit, soul and body — easily available to anyone who dares to believe and receive His word of grace.

Much like how rebirth, redemption and salvation are made available by putting one’s belief in and receiving Jesus and His sacrifice at the cross which is the ultimate display of God’s grace, this building up of an entire person is available through the receipt of His word of grace.

The gospel is this — the word of God’s grace doesn’t only build one up and give an inheritance in the afterlife. It builds you up entirely in the here and now (spirit, soul and body) and manifests the inheritance Jesus died for you to enjoy even in this present world.

The gospel of Christ is the power of God for the salvation indeed (healing, redemption from sicknesses and diseases, etc.) for everyone who believes.

So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Acts 20:32
