Good News #136: Because of Jesus, All Authority Has Been Given to Me in Heaven and On Earth!
Every bad, evil and corrupted thing we see around is a product of the work of the devil on this world… yes, it was Adam’s sin that brought death…and so now death (the other name of the devil) is at work all around us… everything in this world degenerates… decays… dies… these are the things we are exposed to since the day we were born into this world…
But…
Christ has provided an escape from all these through His sacrifice…
Regardless of experience, every born again believer is, in truth, no longer subject to the work of the devil…
Because our Lord Jesus has taken back man’s authority over this earth…
But, born again Christians, if we are to be honest with ourselves, we all still fall into the trap of getting impressed with the devil… his deceptions and lies…
we get more scared of what the enemy is doing than get more excited at how God will turn things around for our good…
we get more busy being fearful than reminding ourselves of how faithful our God is, of what a Redeemer He is, etc.
See, born again or not, the human bent is on the negative…
expecting bad news…
getting drawn into the hopelessness of the realities of a fallen world…
getting sucked into the desperation of natural circumstances…
And this is because the natural state of this world is so ingrained in us that these behavioral responses have become involuntary reflexes.
This is why the word of God implores us to renew our minds daily…
The gospel is this — Jesus has ALL AUTHORITY is His in heaven and on earth… and know what He does with it? He uses all authority to work things together for the good of those who are His… the ones who have believed in and received Him…
Look, He is never going to force His grace upon anyone… if you don’t believe in Him, He doesn’t resent you…
But, boy if you believe in Him and receive Him…. boy oh boy!!!
Everyday, you can have a hopeful expectation of good things to happen…
because the Lord Jesus has nothing bad to give… only good…
Whatta God we have!!!
