Good News #115: The Darkness May Cover the Earth, But the Lord Glorifies Me and Shines His Light Upon Me!

At the risk of sounding like a doomsday messenger, the reality is that we are living in dark perilous times…
And the truth of the matter is that the Bible is clear that things will get darker…

Isaiah 60:2a says…
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people

yet this same verse does not end here…it goes on to give us such a powerful hope and assurance that the darkness coming upon the earth does not have to come upon those who believe in our Lord Jesus.

Isaiah 60:2b says…
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.

See? There is a distinction between those who do not believe in Jesus and those who believe in Jesus…

It’s clear as daylight!

Again, what can be expected?
⁃ Upon the earth will be darkness…
⁃ Upon those who DO NOT believe in Jesus will be deep darkness…
⁃ Upon those who BELIEVE in Jesus will His glory arise over and be seen upon…

Look, there is a sentence on this earth because of what Adam did… and we all have to choose a side in the conflict between God and the devil… your believing and receiving Jesus as Lord and Saviour allows Him to pull you to His side and under His protection…without violating your freewill because He is never going to force His grace upon anyone.

The gospel is this — The moment you believe and receive Jesus, you’re forever His and to the degree of your believing in His faithfulness to keep you and preserve you…to that degree you experience it.

Our Lord Jesus knows who belongs to Him…and who belongs to Him, He sets apart, keeps and preserves…and His protection is not dependent on whether we have our act together… Rahab was a harlot, wasn’t she?

Whatta God we have!!!
Whatta Saviour and Protector we have in Jesus!!!

By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.
