Good News #321: Because of Jesus, I Am Forever Seated in Christ Where I Am Safe, Well-Provided, and Cared For!
The Bible says that every child of God is a citizen of heaven (see Philippians 3:20).
This means we are simply sojourners in this world.
This world is a temporary home. It’s not our permanent address; heaven is.
If you don’t know this yet — heaven is God’s home.
Psalm 23:4 says:
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
⁃ In heaven, there is no valley of the shadow of death.
⁃ In heaven, there is no evil.
Psalm 23:5 says:
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
⁃ In heaven, there are no enemies.
This is why NO CHAIR is prepared… only a table is… because our stay in this fallen world where valleys of shadows of death and enemies are… is temporary.
We are not meant to camp nor live in the valley of the shadow of death in the presence of enemies.
The Lord, our Shepherd, is taking us through it…
God’s forever plan is that we dwell in the house of the Lord… FOREVER (see Psalm 23:6)
The gospel is this — God’s “forever” plan is for us to be seated in Christ in heaven… who is seated at the right hand of The Father… far above all enemies…
Thank God our Good Shepherd Jesus only prepares a table… no chairs.
He is taking us to the house of The Lord.
