Good News #139: Jesus Came to Heal My Broken-Heartedness and to Set Me Free from All Oppression!
Many of us think God is ONLY concerned with the big things like international tensions, global conflicts, national issues, persecutions of the church, etc.
We think He is inconvenienced when we come to Him for things that are so personal it just concerns us…
We think we should only come to Him for issues that concern at least one more person other than ourself…
We think He would think us selfish if we come to Him for very personal issues that only concern ourself…
Well, the good news is that God would never think of us selfish if we come to Him for very personal issues that may only concern ourself and no one else. He would never feel inconvenienced for when we come to Him for personal things…
In fact, He delights in His children coming to Him asking, casting our cares and letting Him do for us what we come to Him for. He is glorified in our coming to Him, why? Because He considers this humility… pride is when we think we can accomplish, prosper, succeed in life without absolute dependency on Him…
1 Peter 5:6-7 put it this way…
Therefore HUMBLE yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, CASTING ALL your CARE upon Him, for He cares for you.
Do you know that every care in this life puts a stress on our hearts?
We don’t just get brokenhearted from breaking up with someone…
Cares which we are too proud to keep to ourselves and not cast to God gets heavier and heavier… straining and stressing our hearts over time…
The gospel is this — The Lord Jesus came to show us the heart of The Father of Whom He is One with… and our God’s heart is that our strained, stressed out, burdened, overwhelmed, broken hearts are healed… and He does this through and in our Lord Jesus…
What lies heavy on your heart today?
The Lord Jesus asks that you cast them to Him and let Him heal you of a broken heart…
Whatta God we have!
Whattan extravagantly loving God we have!
