Good News #117: Because I Am a New Creation in Jesus Christ, I Have Received From God a New Heart and a New Spirit!

Every one born into this world is born a sinner. This “sinnerhood” is Adam’s inheritance to all of us… we all came from Adam…

This is why noone needs to teach a child to lie. No matter how good a parent you are, your child will eventually lie… because all of us came into this world with a fallen nature… the human spirit and heart are just naturally bent on doing evil…

So when Jesus died on the cross, He wasn’t dying for the godly and the righteous. No…

Jesus died for ungodly, unrighteous you and me…humanity who possess a dead spirit and a heart of stone…

No amount of good works can resurrect the dead spirits we inherited from Adam.
No amount of willpower can transform the hearts of stone that we inherited from Adam.

On our own, we can never undo what Adam made us become…

THUS the need for a Saviour…This is why Jesus came…

And one of the many things that suddenly became available for humanity because of the finished work of Jesus is an actual real inner heart transformation…coming from a spirit that had gone through a rebirth… a new heart and a new spirit…

In believing in Jesus, one becomes a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

The gospel is this — the moment you receive Jesus, you receive a new spirit and a new heart… which UNLIKE the ones we inherited from Adam, are bent on doing good and what is pleasing to God. It just needs time to get acquainted with and fed with real gospel truth so we can act accordingly to it.

Only through Jesus is real life transformation possible and available…
This is why He came… This is why Jesus is truly the gospel!
