Good News #74: God’s Grace is Readily Available to Those Who Ask Expectantly and Boldly!

Mercy is being saved from the fatal consequences we deserve from being who we are (sinners, ungodly) and doing what we do (sin; falling short of the glory of God) because someOne suffered it for us. His name is Jesus.

Romans 5:6 says…
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

In Mark 10, the blind asked Jesus for sight.

Did Jesus check for the blind’s qualification to receive healing? NO
Did Jesus get offended at the blind’s audacity of calling out to Him? NO
Did Jesus warn the blind to be quiet? NO

Guess who warned the blind to be quiet? Everyone else [Mark 10:48]…but NOT Jesus.
In fact, we find Jesus standing still and commanding for the blind to be called.
Not long after, the blind had receive his sight and followed Jesus.

Isn’t it wonderful that the same Jesus who stood still and commanded the blind who called for His mercy and proceeded to give his sight is the same Jesus today who will stop at the sound of your cry to Him?

Hebrews 4:16 says…
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Why is this so? Why can we come boldly?
Because Jesus paid the price for us to be able to do so.

Guess what?
Just like the blind in Mark 10, all of humanity suffers the disease of blindness, which is a form of death where one lives in darkness.
Some suffer it both physically and spiritually…but all suffer it spiritually.

But praise God for Jesus because now, all of us (who believe in Jesus) can receive not just physical sight but spiritual sight as well.

Not only that…
This is the gospel — Jesus makes us the light of the world [Matthew 5:14] so that the blind around can see.

Isn’t He amazing?
He truly does exceed everything we can even think or imagine of Him!
Whatta God we have!

Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”
