Good News #49: God’s Will is to Bring Heaven Here on Earth!
In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.Matthew 6:9-10
Every bad thing we see around us in this world was never part of God’s plan for it. Man wasn’t even supposed to die.
1 Corinthians 15:26 calls death an enemy.
Death came because of Adam’s sin and with it came corruption.
Romans 8 tells us that creation was subjected to futility (bondage of corruption), not willingly… and that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs until now.
Why do we age? Why are there diseases and sicknesses, plagues, pestilences…covid? Why are there earthquakes and storms? Why all the misery? — We live in a fallen world… a consequence of Adam’s sin. None of any of these are from God.
But then why does God not come down Himself and do anything?
ACTUALLY — God already did. He sent Jesus, the Perfect God who came as the Perfect sinless Man to do what sinful mankind cannot do on their own.
The first Adam brought death.
Jesus, the last Adam [1 Corinthians 15:45] brought redemption.
Jesus brought the gospel. He is the gospel. In Him is redemption and salvation… a way to live above the sentence of condemnation and corruption in this world.
In and through Jesus, the will of The Father is made possible — that earth does not just become a little better but that it mirrors heaven.
In heaven— there is no death, no ageing, no sickness, no disease, no poverty, no plagues, no pestilences, no covid, no storms, no earthquakes…
But as we are temporarily on earth, we have the gospel of Christ, which is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes [Romans 1:16]
Through the true gospel of Christ, heaven is brought down on earth for us to enjoy.
The will of the Father is that we enjoy heaven while we are down here — all made possible in and through JESUS.
Whatta gospel we have in Jesus!!!
