Good News #29: Jesus in Me Means No Evil or Power of the Enemy Shall Ever Hurt Me!
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luke 10:19
A lot of christians think they need to suffer sickness, poverty, mental oppression, etc in this present world so that it can be said of them that they endured in faith. This is erroneous thinking.
These are works of the enemy who only comes to steal, kill and destroy [John 10:10]… Jesus in this same verse says He came to give life and life more abundant to those who believe in Him.
The only suffering the bible talks about for a born again child of God to endure is persecution from the world for belonging to Christ Jesus.
Listen to what Jesus said to Peter who pointed out that he and the others have left all for Jesus and followed Him…
Mark 10:29-30 says…
29 So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s,
30 who shall not RECEIVE a hundredfold NOW IN THIS TIME houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, WITH PERSECUTIONS and IN THE AGE TO COME, eternal life.
Long before Jesus died on the cross, Jesus already gave everyone who believes in Him authority to trample over all the power of the enemy, nothing hurting them.
Jesus had made them overcomers, even though they were not born again yet (noone can be born again in the Spirit prior to His resurrection).
If He did this for them then, won’t He do so now? especially now that He has defeated all of hell and conquered death?
Let’s stop embracing the works/attacks of the enemy in our lives and call it endurance, when it is unnecessary suffering allowed in life.
The gospel is Jesus gave everyone who believes in Him authority to crush the devil and all of hell.
1 John 4:4 says…
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
This is the gospel.
Jesus is the gospel.
Whatta God we have!
Whatta Saviour we have in Jesus!!!
