Day 8: I Am Higher than Angels, For I Am in Christ Jesus

There are groups of people in the body of Christ today that think they are being spiritual by praying to angels.

The truth is, angels do not grant prayers. They cannot. They are created beings, too. They only move to the voice of God’s word (Psalm 103:20), in other words, they are subject to the commands of God.

The question now is, who gives voice to God’s word? The answer is you and me. Every believer who confesses the word of God gives voice to the word of God.

What does this all mean? When we confess the word of God and say “No evil shall befall me and my family, Nor shall any plague come near our dwelling” (Psalm 91:10), angels assigned to you stand in attention and when the enemy lurks near, they slash the enemy in accordance to the word of God being confessed, or given voice to.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is called The Lord of the Hosts (armies). He is the Commander-in-Chief and because you are in Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 1:30), you are above angels, fallen or not.

which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

Ephesians 1:20-21

Today, don’t be afraid of Satan who is a fallen angel. You are above him in Christ Jesus. Don’t pray to angels either. That’s because you are higher than them in Christ Jesus. Lastly, don’t pray to angels because it is a form of idolatry, even they themselves forbade John to do so. (Revelation 19:10, 22:9).
