Risen Life Day #22: Rise and Walk
“Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.” — Acts 3:7 (NIV)

THE JOURNEY
Marcus had prayed for change.
For years, he struggled with the same cycle—discouragement, self-doubt, and patterns he couldn’t seem to break. When he encountered God in a powerful way at a retreat, something shifted. He felt lighter. Free. Different.
For a few days, everything changed.
Then life returned to normal.
Old habits whispered again.
Old thoughts resurfaced.
Old patterns waited for him.
Marcus found himself at a crossroads.
Was that experience real?
Or was it just temporary?
One morning, while reading Acts 3, he noticed something he had never paid attention to before.
The man didn’t just get healed.
He had to stand.
Peter took him by the hand—but the man had to respond.
He had to rise.
Marcus realized something important:
Healing had begun—but walking it out required participation.
That day, instead of slipping back into old patterns, Marcus made a different choice.
One decision.
Then another.
Then another.
It wasn’t perfect.
But it was movement.
And slowly, what God had started, Marcus began to walk in.
Heart of the Matter
In Acts 3, the miracle doesn’t end with healing—it continues with movement.
The man who had been unable to walk is now:
• standing
• walking
• jumping
• praising God
But notice the sequence.
Peter reaches out his hand.
And the man responds.
This is a powerful picture of the Risen Life.
God initiates transformation.
But we participate in it.
Many believers experience moments of breakthrough—but struggle with consistency afterward.
Why?
Because healing is not just something we receive.
It is something we learn to walk in.
Here is the dynamic of the Risen Life:
You love God by choosing to walk in the freedom He has already begun in you.
You align your actions with what He has done, even when it feels unfamiliar.
He loves you back by strengthening you as you take each step forward.
What begins as a miracle is sustained through daily grace.
The man at the gate didn’t stay seated after he was healed.
He moved.
And sometimes, the greatest step of faith is simply this:
Get up.
Faith in Action
Freedom grows through movement.
The Challenge:
Identify one area where God has already begun a change in your life.
Ask yourself:
• Where do I need to take a step forward?
• What action reflects the new life God is building in me?
Choose one step today.
It could be:
• breaking an old habit
• choosing a new response
• stepping into something you’ve avoided
• reinforcing a healthy pattern
Write this declaration:
“God has made me strong—I will walk in it.”
Then act on it.
Prayer for the Day
Risen Lord, thank You for the work You have begun in my life. Thank You for healing, freedom, and new beginnings. But today, I ask for the strength to walk in what You have started. Help me not to return to old patterns or familiar struggles. Give me courage to take each step forward, even when it feels uncomfortable. Strengthen me as I move, and remind me that I do not walk alone. Thank You that Your power is not only for breakthrough—but for daily living. Amen.
