Good News #349: In Jesus’ New Covenant with His People, Provisions and Healings are Promised and Fulfilled!

Many Christians are allergic to the term prosperity – much more the term abundant prosperity – yet it is hard to ignore scriptures upon scriptures that tell us abundance and prosperity and health are God’s ideas.

Obviously, we are not ignoring the fact that some Christians have abused their influence to gain wealth.

Obviously, we are against materialism and avarice. We are against cheating, defrauding, using, and stepping down on people just to gain financial wealth.

However, we cannot diminish the word of God simply because some Christians have gone rogue and abused the gospel and coerced people into giving to them…

The actions of Christians are never what we use to define our God. His character has always been independent of the actions of His people… His lovingkindness, integrity, and holiness are never measured by the defilement of His people.

In the old covenant, it says:

Exodus 15:26 — “…I am The Lord who heals you.”

Leviticus 26:10 — “You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new.”

Deuteronomy 7:15 — “…The Lord will take away from you all sickness.”

Deuteronomy 8:18 — “…remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the power to create wealth.”

Deuteronomy 28:8 — “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which The Lord your God is giving you.”

Deuteronomy 28:12 — “You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.”

and much more…

The God of the old covenant is the same God of the new covenant.

The gospel is this — if the old covenant promised these and the Bible says that the new covenant is a better covenant then we can expect these same promises but with more added.
The Old Covenant was cut by the blood of animals…
The New covenant is cut by the eternal blood of The Son of God, Jesus Christ.
Why then should we think He won’t give us divine health and abundant prosperity?

But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

Hebrews 8:6
