Good News #329: Because I Am in Christ, I Will Not Get Hungry and Thirsty Even With All the Problems Facing the World Right Now!

God testified of David as a man after His own heart.

In studying the life of David, we see a man under the old covenant who was operating and walking in new covenant principles.

The old covenant of the law dictates that no one can come near the ark of the covenant, which was kept behind a veil in the tabernacle of Moses… yet we read about David setting up an open tent where the ark of the covenant rested, and he installed worship services 24 hours a day seven days a week in front of it… and none of them fell down dead.

The old covenant of the law dictates that no one outside of the priests (from the tribe of Levi) can eat of the holy bread set on the table of shewbread in the tabernacle… yet we read about David (not a priest and not from the tribe of Levi) asking for it and eating of it and giving of it to his men when he was on the run like a fugitive away from king Saul…. and none of them fell down dead from this transgression of Levitical law.

It seems David knew something about God and His heart that no one else did…
David knows the heart of God that beats with tender mercy and everlasting goodness towards His people.

And under the old covenant, David testified of the God of Israel who never lets His people go hungry.

This God of Israel is the same God who came in the flesh and said these words:
“I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me will never go hungry, and he who believes in Me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35)

The gospel is this — In Christ Jesus, we do not operate within the constraints of the global economy and its ups and downs.
Heaven knows no lack… it is not dictated by the world’s economy.
Every child of God has access to the economy of heaven where there is no lack.
Even in the days of world famine, the children of God will be satisfied.

They shall not be ashamed in the evil time,
And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

Psalm 37:19
