Good News #291: Through Jesus, God Gives Me All the Opportunity to Repent and Return to Him; His Grace and Mercy Endures Forever!

The limitless grace and mercy of our God is hard to comprehend.

When we really get down to it, the truth of sin is that when we sin against each other, we are, first and foremost, sinning against God. Ultimately, all violations we do against one another is first a violation we do against God Himself.

The bible is clear that the very breath of life we all have came from God Himself.
The bible is also clear that we, human beings, were created by God in His own image and likeness.

This means that what we do to others, we first do it to God.

In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus spoke about the Son of Man coming in His glory to judge the nations. He spoke of how the Son of Man (Himself) being the King and how He will separate the blessed ones to inherit the kingdom who fed the hungry, gave a drink to the thirsty, welcomed strangers, clothed the naked, visited the sick and came to those in prison.

And in relation to this, Jesus said in Matthew 25:40:
“Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.”

And to those who did not do the same, Jesus said to them in Matthew 25:45:
“Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.”

What we do to others, we do it to Jesus…
Yet even though we transgress against Him constantly by our actions towards one another, whether intentionally or unintentionally, He doesn’t want any of us to perish… He does not want any of us to die… despite us being us.

The gospel is this — every human being is precious in the sight of God.
God values every single one of us, broken fallen sinful humanity.
God takes no pleasure in the death of any of us.
His grace and mercy is everlasting!

Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’
