Good News #278: With Jesus as My Protector, I Am Safe in Him and He Keeps Me From Stumbling!

We have a God who does exceedingly abundantly above all that we can think or imagine (see Ephesians 3:20). This is how He does things. One thing He does accomplishes a multitude of good.

When Jesus came as Man and died on that cross, His one sacrifice accomplished a lot of things… to name a few: eternal salvation, gift of righteousness, adoption into God’s family, citizenship of heaven, rebirth, etc…

And yet… as if these things are not enough, once a sinner is saved, Jesus works to keep him/her who has been saved from stumbling.

How amazing is that?

Jesus works to create an atmosphere for right living for those who are saved.
This does not mean everyone saved will no longer sin… we do not attain sinless perfection in this earth because we still await for our glorified bodies… yet Jesus works to allow for the one who has been saved and reborn to have the capacity to live right… yet without robbing them of their free will.

Ultimately, it is up to us to choose to stumble or not…

But the gospel is this — the capacity not to stumble is not something we can manufacture on our own.
Jesus Himself works to create an atmosphere to help us avoid stumbling…
Jesus Himself works to keep us from stumbling… because His salvation is not just salvation from hell but from every work of the enemy that comes through the inroad built by stumbling (sin).
Jesus is the gospel.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
