Good News #238: As I Fix My Eyes on Jesus, He Makes Perfect My Faith in Him – The Very Faith That Produces Miracles!

Some people think that faith is something they can conjure up on their own…. sort of like a mental assent where you just create positive thoughts and focus on them.

But faith is far more than just positive thinking and focusing on the good. Faith has a foundation and that foundation has a Name — The Name Jesus.

In fact, Hebrews 12:2 tells us that Jesus is the Author of faith.

Now, Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ.

In other words, faith follows the word of Christ… and we see in the gospel accounts how hearing about Jesus seem to stir faith in people opening their hearts to receive from Him… much like how hearing about Jesus stirred a conviction in the heart of the woman who had an issue with her blood flow for 12 years that just by touching Jesus she will be healed.

When she finally saw Jesus, she touched the hem of His garment and healing flowed to her.

Faith creates an atmosphere for the miracles of Jesus to flow through to people.

Today, we cannot physically look at Jesus… but we can definitely look at Jesus, see Jesus and focus on Jesus through His word… through the word about Him in Scripture… and as we do so, we are looking at Jesus… and the faith that He authored follows His word… the word of Christ and He perfects His faith in us….

After Jesus has ascended to heaven, we read in the last verse of the gospel of Mark (Mark 16:20) these words:
“And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.”

The gospel is this — Jesus does not demand for us to manufacture our own faith.
He only asks that we look to Him, hear His word and receive His grace, love and mercy so that the faith that comes from Him, He can continue to perfect in us… and that faith attracts the miracles of heaven.
Whatta God we have!

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
