Good News #214: No Matter How Many Times I Fall, Jesus is Always Ready to Welcome Me Back to Him!

Even in the born again state of life, a child of God will still stumble here and there. This is reality… unfortunate and absolutely not ideal but a reality nonetheless.

But you know what is a greater reality?

It is the reality that God knows this and it does not intimidate Him at all.
It is the reality that God sees those who believe in and have received Jesus as Lord and Saviour in the light of the finished work of His Son.
It is the reality that no matter how many times we might stumble, He never leaves nor forsakes us.
It is the reality that He has seen our past, present and future and He is not unaware of our shortcomings yet He remains faithful to us.
And that no matter how many times we fail, He is still there lifting us up… welcoming us to His embrace…

Psalm 9 is a psalm written by David, a man who lived during the old covenant of the law where God’s favor comes through the blood of bulls and goats… a man who not only committed adultery but arranged for the death of the woman’s husband. In his life of successes and failures, David lived seeing and experiencing being the recipient of the faithfulness of the God who never leaves and forsakes those who belong to Him.

The gospel is this — if The Lord God has shown such grace and steadfastness to David under an inferior covenant, He will do the same to us who are now under a superior covenant cut by the blood of noone else but His Son Jesus, exceeding everything that He has already done in the old covenant.

We will still stumble here and there
But The Lord is steadfast, He will never forsake us…
Because His faithfulness is not based on who we are but on who He is.

And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
