Good News #169: Jesus’ Help is Ever-Present in Time of Need; When I Call on His Name, He Will Surely Show Up!
I believe no believer will ever be able to fully grasp the magnitude of the goodness of our God in this present life… neither in the next… but that we will spend all of eternity discovering His goodness… the wonders, glory and majesty of Him… even eternity is probably not enough… for God is bigger than eternity itself…
Yet, this wonderful Most Powerful Eternal God that even the entire universe cannot contain… Who has myriads of angels singing worship to Him endlessly… Who has the entire creation at His command… This Wonderful God looks at humanity… humanity full of frailties who cannot even properly worship Him… He looks at humanity and makes Himself available to humanity… to be everything humanity needs…
The bible describes angels to be awe-inspiring… majestic in stature… they can sing without getting out of tune… they never tire… mighty and strong in battle…
YET… when some of the angels fell, God never gave Himself to them…
BUT… to us frail, helpless humanity who cannot even consistently tell right from wrong, God has given Himself to redeem us… God Himself bled for us…God Himself died for us…
Hebrews 2:16 says…
For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham.
God gives us the very best He has — Himself.
There will always be trouble in this world… mostly, our own doing… sometimes, others’… sometimes, the devil’s…
But the gospel is this — Even though The Lord God does not owe us anything and He does not have to give us a thought or care in the world, He Himself had made Himself responsible for us… to help us:
- escape death and hell
- get free from the oppressions of the devil a.k.a sicknesses and diseases
- break free from the works of the devil (steal, kill, destroy) a.k.a poverty, destruction, death…
- and much more…
How not to fall in love with a God who loves us with all His heart, all His soul and all His strength?
