Good News #159: Jesus Alone Deserves All My Worship; Nobody Else Should Be Prayed to or Venerated!
The Bible talks about angels and hierarchies of angels… but regardless of where they fall in the hierarchy… whether an angel or an archangel, they are never to be worshipped or prayed to or venerated…
Angels themselves worship God.
All worship belong to God and God alone.
All prayers ought to ascend to God alone.
Scripture tells us that ANGELS are magnificent and awe-inspiring but they themselves ARE CREATED BEINGS.
In the book of Revelation, we find angels themselves forbidding the apostle John from falling down on his face to worship them… Obviously, John was awestruck in their presence and as if involuntarily, he falls down to worship…
Revelation 19:10:
And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
Revelation 22:8-9:
Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things.
Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!”
The angels never miss a beat in correcting John to never fall down in worship before them because they themselves are fellow servants.
And just like angels, all else are created beings and should never be confused for anything else other than created beings… beings of whom we should never exchange God with.
Whatever concern you have, you don’t need to pray to this bible character or that bible character… go directly to God because Jesus, The Way, has made it possible for us to do so.
The gospel is this — the word of God leaves no room for confusion on WHOM to fall down in worship to, to pray to, to venerate, to adore, to glorify — God alone… The Creator…
Everything we need and will ever need are in Him and in Him alone.
And He will never turn you away when you come to Him.

But to which of the angels has He ever said:
Hebrews 1:13-14
“Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”?
Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
