Good News #149: The Lord is Good, My Stronghold in the Day of Trouble and I Put My Trust in Him!
Most people in the midst of their trouble would turn to The Lord and cry out to Him… The Lord then works to give them a breakthrough… because that’s what The Lord does… He never turns away anyone who comes to Him.
Jesus Himself said in John 6:37:
“…the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”
These experiences led many people to believe the erroneous idea that God gives them the trouble so they would turn to Him — This is absolute error.
And to make matters worse, religion teaches the same that if God is calling you back to repentance then God would give you trouble so you would do so — Horrible! This is an assassination of the character of God… a direct contradiction to what it says in the book of Romans…
Romans 2:4 puts it in question form:
Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
It is clear — The goodness of God leads people to repentance…
Trouble never equals goodness.
No earthly dictionary would define trouble as good… why would we think heaven would do so?
Now, the word of God does not promise that there would be no trouble in this world… most of the time, a result of our actions or the actions of people around or an attack from the enemy… It is a fallen world, after all, with imperfect human beings…
But the gospel is this — The word of God does promise that The Lord can be your stronghold from trouble when it comes IF you choose to run to and trust in Him… even if we don’t have our life altogether… because He would never turn anyone away who comes to Him.
Whatta gracious gracious God we have!
