Good News #148: God’s Peace Can Overcome Any Storms in Life!
2 Timothy 3:16 says…
All scripture is given by inspiration of God…
In other words, the bible carries no insignificant detail. Every word had been carefully selected by The Holy Spirit…He Who is One with the Perfect God… which means everything He does is perfect. Holy Scripture has no careless word.
So where it says Jesus rebuked it, The Holy Spirit meant exactly that Jesus rebuked it. This means the storm scaring the brains out of the disciples was not from God…because Jesus is One with God…
In John 10:30, Jesus said…
“I and My Father are one.”
and Jesus only does what He sees the Father do…
In John 5:19, Jesus said…
“Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner…”
Jesus was simply doing what the Father would have done with the storm…
We live in a fallen world…a world originally given to mankind to have dominion over…yet we know how Adam unwittingly forfeited mankind’s dominion to the devil when he ate of the fruit of the forbidden tree, under the deception of the devil…
Now, we know that today, the devil is completely powerless over the earth because of Jesus…so why all the environmental storms? one word — CONSEQUENCES… man’s lack of stewardship over the earth have serious consequences…
and as for born again believers already redeemed by Jesus, why all the personal storms?
two reasons…
one is the same word as above — CONSEQUENCES… while we are born again in the Spirit, our actions in the natural still carry consequences… like if we put our hand in the fire, no matter how long we have been born again, the fire will burn our hand… this means, even as born again believers, we are called to live responsibly…
the other reason is — an attack from the enemy… simply because you are a child of God…
The gospel is this — Our God is consistently good and perfect in all His ways…
Far be it from any of us to blame storms in life (both environmental and personal) on our God…
Our God is for us and never against us!
Let Him protect you and preserve you from the storms of life…
