Good News #147: God Desires For All Men to Know the Truth About the Savior; For Whosoever Believes in Jesus is Saved!
Even if you don’t believe in Jesus, God wants you saved.
It is His desire that you come to know His Son, what His Son did for you and that you believe in what His Son Jesus did…and receive Him as your Lord and Saviour…
Salvation only comes through God’s Son — Jesus Christ.
Now, most people, when they hear the word “salvation”, they know it means being saved…
Most people, too, know “being saved by and through Jesus” means being saved from sins and eternal damnation from hell…
Yet most fail to realize that “salvation” or “being saved” in heaven’s vocabulary has more to it other than being saved from hell…
The word “saved” in the original Greek with which the New Testament was written is the word “sozo”.
Sōzō means to save, that is, deliver, protect (literally or figuratively). It also means to heal, preserve, be made whole, do well.
In Mark 6:56, it says of the sick laid in the marketplaces:
…And as many as touched Him were made well.
In Luke 8:48, Jesus said to the woman with a blood issue for twelve years:
“Daughter, be of good cheer, your faith has made you well. Go in peace”
In Luke 17:19, Jesus said to the Samaritan leper:
“Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”
The phrase “made well” in these examples is one word — sōzō
Now, does God stop at you being healed?
The answer is in John 10:10 where Jesus said about Himself and His sheep:
“…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Our God desires that we have life and an abundant life at that.
So after He makes you whole, healthy and well, He then works in you the potential to be a blessing in practical ways…
Deuteronomy 8:18 says…
the Lord your God….is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth…
The gospel is this — Our God is not ignorant of the things we need — life, health and provision, to name a few.
His salvation is not limited. Whatever on earth that does not mirror heaven is not from God…
Heaven does not have sicknesses and poverty…His salvation therefore covers deliverance from such…
We have a powerful and practical God!
And He desires all to be saved…

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
