Good News #130: Because I Am in Jesus Christ, No Evil Shall Befall Me and No Plague Shall Come Near My Dwelling!
Believer or unbeliever, people inherently know that the world we live in is a fallen world.
And the word of God does not deny the fallenness of this world. It also does not deny the existence of evil in this world…neither does it promise that evil will cease to exist in this world. It is fallen.
BUT…
What the word of God promises though is that everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus has The Lord as their refuge and their dwelling place…they live in the secret place of the Most High, which is IN CHRIST Jesus…
How does being IN CHRIST Jesus look like? The gospels give us pictures of it. Here are a few:
— when Jesus touched Simon Peter’s mother-in-law lying sick with a fever, took her by the hand and lifted her up, the fever left her. [Matthew 8:14-15; Mark 1:30-31]
— when Jesus touched the leper, the leprosy left him and he was cleansed. [Matthew 8:2-3; Mark 1:40-42; Luke 5:12-13]
— when a man possessed by a legion of demons came in the presence of Jesus, all demons left the man by the word of Jesus [Matthew 8:28-32; Mark 5:2-13; Luke 8:26-33]
No evil, no sickness, no devil can stand in the presence of Jesus…
No evil, no sickness, no devil can dare come near the presence of Jesus and prevail…
The gospel is this — When you believe in and receive Jesus, He grafts you into Him, who is now seated at the right hand of The Almighty…
Jesus becomes your refuge… fortress… shield… buckler…
In Christ Jesus, you are in the safest place there is…in the shadow of the Almighty.
Whatta Saviour and Protector we have in Jesus!
