Good News #129: I Am Fully Assured of God’s Character, Word and Work – All His Promises Are Yes and Amen in Jesus!
Immediately after the fall of man in the garden of Eden, God Himself spoke of His redemption plan…which sounded like an impossibility and a mystery then but is now fully revealed in the redemptive work of Jesus on the cross more than two thousand years ago.
After God pronounced a curse on the serpent, He said in Genesis 3:15:
“And I will put enmity between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed.
He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
Biologically, a woman does not have seed in her. God was talking of The Seed who would not come FROM a male directly from the lineage of Adam but a Seed that would come INTO the lineage of Adam THROUGH a woman… and we all know Who this is — our Lord Jesus, who was born of the Spirit.
God speaks and things come into existence…
God spoke His redemption plan and it came to pass through our Lord Jesus…
Now, it did take time because while God is sovereign, He is not fully controlling this world because the dominion of this world He has given to humanity… and so God had to work through mankind in speaking the words that would legally bring His Son to come into this world in the flesh but perfectly sinless.
What God says He will do, He will do it.
What God says is, it is.
So when God says that everyone who believes in Jesus has eternal life… eternal salvation… eternal redemption… His eternal Spirit… eternal inheritance…
then truly their life is according to the eternal life that God lives…
their salvation is eternal…
their redemption is eternal…
the indwelling of His Holy Spirit in them is eternal…
their inheritance is eternal…
As noone, not even the devil can stop the redemption plan God spoke of from the beginning of creation…
so noone can stop the state of being eternal and perpetual of their life, salvation, redemption, inheritance, etc IN CHRIST JESUS.
The gospel is this — You cannot undo the work of salvation that Christ Jesus effected in your life the moment you believed in and received Him.
We have an eternal God…
His word is eternal…
His work is eternal…
