Good News #94: Only In Jesus That I Have Redemption Through His Blood, By the Riches of His Grace That My Sins are Forgiven!

The Bible is clear.

Redemption and forgiveness of sins are only possible through our Lord Jesus Christ by the shedding of His blood.

Hebrews 9:22 says…

And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

The remission of sins had effectively happened because of the shed blood of Jesus.

Everyone who receives Jesus and believes in Him have been effectively cleansed and purified by His blood.

We did not, cannot nor will we ever be able to attain redemption or forgiveness by our own selves nor by what we did, do or will ever do.

Redemption and forgiveness of sins happened because of Jesus, His sacrifice and His shed blood.

Nothing we do can add to what He did.

Now, at this point, it would be good to remind ourselves that the blood of Jesus is divine and eternal blood. This means that whatever has been accomplished by His blood is effective eternally, permanently and forever.

This is why in Hebrews 10:14, we read…

For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

His sacrifice both perfected and sanctified those who believe in Him.

The word “sanctified” is the same word for “hallowed” or “made holy”

This means everyone who receives and believes in Jesus have been made holy.

This does not mean sinless perfection but perfection in the spirit…in the new inner man…this is why even as born again in the Spirit, we still commit sin…but God sees us in our spirit and treats us by the spirit apart from our actions so He sees us holy, blameless and righteous not because of anything we do but because of the perfect work of Jesus.

And did you catch it? It says FOREVER…why? because the blood of Jesus is no ordinary blood…but ETERNAL BLOOD. It is effective for all eternity.

The gospel is this — If you have received and believe in Jesus, you have redemption and your sins have been forgiven eternally, permanently and forever.

You just have to continue feeding your spirit with everything about Jesus so that your behaviours and actions line up with your born again spirit.

Whatta Redeemer and Saviour we have in Jesus!
