Good News #7: Forgiveness of Sins and Healings are Free Gifts of Jesus’ Suffering and Death on the Cross – Will You Receive Them by Faith?

But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

Matthew 9:6

The gospel had always been and always will be about what Jesus did… how He died on the cross for the atonement and remission of sins… NEVER about what we do for Him.

The gospel is about Him FOR you… not you for Him… the latter is only a result of The Lord being fully and wholeheartedly FOR you. He came to do what was necessary to forgive our sins.

In receiving what He has done to have our sins forgiven, we also receive healing… physical healing…

Notice that the man is paralytic, not mute but nowhere in the account do we find the man asking for forgiveness or doing anything other than being brought to Jesus and hearing what Jesus said and acting accordingly. He simply received His forgiveness of sins and received healing as a result of the gift of forgiveness of sins.

It is NOT the paralytic’s obedience to the instruction to arise, take up the bed and go that gave him healing… NO… Jesus said “but that you may know that He has the power to forgive sins…”

Healing is just proof of already having received forgiveness of sins. Let us NEVER make the gospel about OUR obedience, sacrifice, service, ministry… because it never is about us and never will be.

It is about the obedience OF Jesus, HIS sacrifice, HIS service, HIS ministry….
The gospel is all about Jesus and the goodness OF God.
