Good News #357: Worshipping Jesus and Singing Him Praises is an Effective Weapon to Defeat the Devil!

This is not something that people hear in most churches. Still, we will say it anyway because the truth sets us up for freedom and victory from our spiritual enemies — just because you have prayed the salvation prayer and received Jesus as Lord and Saviour, the enemy will not stop coming against us you.

Now, let’s remember that we war not against human beings but against spiritual entities that are enemies of God. Once you believe in Jesus and receive Him as Lord and Saviour, you have become a threat to them, so your spiritual enemies will not stop coming at you.

But the promise of the Lord is this — He will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. (see Deuteronomy 28:7)

Now, because there is the matter of free will that operates even in the born-again life, Our Lord Jesus waits for our consent to fight our battles for us. We, born-again believers, are often paralyzed because of the ignorance that He will never violate our free will and that He waits for us to yield to Him in every circumstance of our lives.

When we decide to offer our praise and worship to Him in our circumstances, no matter how dire it may look it, He takes it and honors it by using it as a platform to fight our battles for us.

When we do so, The Lord Jesus, who set up ambushes against three enemy armies coming to attack the children of Israel, will do the same for us against all our spiritual enemies rising up against us today.

The gospel is this — The Lord who fought against the three enemy armies for the children of Israel will fight against all spiritual enemy armies for the children of God.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Plus… we have a better covenant than the children of Israel in the old testament.

Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.
