Good News #339: For My Health and Healing, All I Need is Jesus and His Living Breathing Word as Written in Scriptures!
One very good example of how powerful the word of God is in healing anyone and everyone who runs to Him and receives His word of healing is the story of king Hezekiah.
2 Kings 20 tells us about king Hezekiah being sick and near death and was given a word of The Lord by the prophet Isaiah to prepare for his death. The Lord ensured that those who were left wouldn’t be left without any order or charge over them.
In hearing about his coming death, king Hezekiah prayed to the Lord and wept bitterly… Before the prophet Isaiah had gone out, the word of The Lord came to the prophet to tell the king these words:
“I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day, you shall go up to the house of The Lord. And I will add to your days fifteen years…”
The Lord did not have to come down from heaven and touch the king… The Lord simply sent His word through the prophet Isaiah… and it was done.
If The Lord had done the same for king Hezekiah who was under the old covenant, all the more would He do now in the new covenant…
In the gospels, we also see The Living Breathing Word of God — JESUS — just speaking/sending His word of healing… for the nobleman’s son… for the demon-possessed daughter of the Syro-Phoenician woman… for the servant of the centurion…
Jesus only needed to speak and send His word… and YET He came for you and me… to give us more than healing… He came to give us total salvation, redemption, and much more…
This only means one thing — it is the heart of our God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit that people receive their healing…
The gospel is this — we have access to healing in and through Jesus Christ…
In His word and by His Holy Spirit.
Whatta Mighty God we have!!!
