Good News #337: Because of Jesus, Abundant, Blessed, Prosperous Life is Mine – Not Just in Eternal Life But Right Here and Right Now!

It doesn’t matter what religious Christians say about God and prosperity. We have to go with what His word says about it.

God is not poor. He has never known lack… poverty is not holiness… it is also not humility to stay in it…
God is not sick. He has never known sickness… being sick is not holiness… it is also not humility to stay that way…

The Bible also gives us an account of how God treats His people:
— Abraham was very rich in livestock, silver, and gold. (see Genesis 13:2)
— Isaac became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy. He had so many flocks, herds, and servants that the Philistines envied him. (see Genesis 26:13-14)
— David, in his devotion to the temple of God, gave from his personal treasures of gold and silver for the temple of God: three thousand talents of gold and seven thousand talents of refined silver. (see 1 Chronicles 29:3-4)
— Solomon’s drinking vessels were all gold, and all vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were pure gold. None were silver because silver was like nothing in his days. (see 1 Kings 10:21)

In the New Testament, Paul said we had been made rich in our Lord Jesus Christ, who through His grace, though He is rich, He became poor for our sake.
(see 2 Corinthians 8:9)

And most importantly, Jesus Himself said about His sheep (those who believe in Him):
“I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” (see John 10:10)

Jesus made a distinction between life and abundant life.

And just like what His word in Deuteronomy says, He gives us the length of days… we cannot have a long life if we are poor and suffering from hunger and lack… we cannot have a long life if we are sick and suffering diseases.

The gospel is this — both old and new covenants testify that God wants us to have life, abundant and prosperous, and He made it all possible in and through our Lord Jesus.
Jesus is the gospel.

that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.
