You, Through Jesus’ Poverty at the Cross, Might Become Rich! #promisekeeper

Religion makes financial poverty appear spiritual but that is not what the Bible teaches. In fact, our Lord Jesus Himself promised that all things will be added to the one who seeks God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness.

Jesus made very specific mentions of both food and clothing as well in Matthew (His very words!):

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?'” For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and HIS righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew 6:31-33

When Jesus hung on the cross, He hung in our place and He was stripped off of all earthly belongings. Why? So, He could also put to death our material poverty and therefore Paul under the guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote this to the Corinthians:

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, THAT YOU THROUGH HIS POVERTY MIGHT BECOME RICH.

2 Corinthians 8:9
