Day 21: In Christ Jesus, I Am the Light of the World!
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
MATTHEW 5:14-17
This one comes with some responsibility. As a child of God, we are called to shine the light He placed within us into this dark world. (1 Peter 2:9) We are the only light in the world that can point people to Jesus. No one comes to God except He first draws them, and the truth is, God often uses us as vessels to draw people to Himself. (John 6:44) Our identity in Christ is never a license to sit back and do nothing. In fact, knowing who we are in Christ activates and empowers us to take a stand for God in the world.
