Day 18: I Am Set Apart by God to Do His Purpose

But you were washed clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin), and YOU WERE CONSECRATED (SET APART, HALLOWED), and you were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 6:11 (AMP)

The words consecrated and hallowed mean set apart as holy to God. This is a present reality based on a past action, which means a holy person can (and should) live a godly life. This is accomplished with the help, and by the power, of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who makes your spirit holy at the new birth when you are born again. Now, the role of the Holy Spirit includes helping you live that way by manifesting resurrection power.

The word sanctified means to set apart for God’s special use. Did you know that you were created for God’s purpose? Your general purpose is to glorify God; your specific purpose is to have fellowship with God through the process of realizing your God-given dream. Question: Are you spending time with God on a regular basis so you can glorify Him by fulfilling His purpose for your life?

Living life with purpose is the cure for health, money and relationship challenges. Living life with purpose is the cure for living a wayward life filled with bondage and addiction. .

The self-limiting belief that prevents Christians from experiencing the fact that they have been set apart for God’s purpose is that sometimes they don’t feel like their lives matters. However, the truth is: Christ lives in Christ-believers in the person of the Holy Spirit; therefore, God has set each one apart for His glorious purpose.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Jeremiah 1:5
