Day 9: I Am Healed by Jesus’ Stripes

Jesus [Himself] bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

1 Peter 2:24

Healing is already ours, as the power of Jesus Christ in us is already ours. When Jesus died on the cross, the sole purpose of that was for our sins to be cleansed, for us to be redeemed from the curse of the law.. But that was not only what Jesus did for us in the cross. He also bore our sicknesses in His body. So that today, for Christ-believers, healing is also our inheritance by His suffering and death on the cross. 

Since Jesus took the sickness away, it is reasonable to conclude that healing is already present in the here and now. It is a reality for Christ-believers. And all we need to do is activate it. The same way that we activated our belief in Christ, it is the same way that we activate our faith with healing. We say it confess with our mouth, and believe it in our heart. This truth will then manifest in our lives.

Why is this confession and believing important? In Proverbs 18:21, it is written that the power of life and death is in our tongue. Just as God spoke existence into being so also for our healing. The power of the risen Christ is already in us; thus, we just have to speak for the blood-bought inheritance He’s provided us to be ours, and our reality. Even if it is not accomplished on the first try you have to say it again and again, and every day if you must. You just let God do all the work; all the work you do is effortless. Allow God to deal with everything else.
