Day 5: Resist the Devil, and He Will Flee from You

Whenever I go on to the internet, there are times when I am somewhat scared. This is because I usually listen to creepypastas on Youtube. These are scary stories found on the internet and usually there is a supernatural element involved. They are meant to spook people of all backgrounds. At the end of the day we are all still humans. But once you read the Bible, you should now know that even though you are human, the Lord dwells within you. Knowing that you have the Almighty God within you should calm your nerves.

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

James 4:7

In James 4:7, it says the devil will flee from you because of the power that resides in you. It is pretty logical to know that the devil will not even touch you. Those spirits or demons lurking in the dark have no power over you. Never forget that even if you do not think highly of yourself (which you should because God made you in his image and has bestowed upon you gifts) that God knows you are special. He created you. No spirit or creature, those “otherworldly” will be able to touch you. There is no need to fear the supernatural. They will all flee from you like the prey they are.

The devil has already been defeated by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. A defeated enemy should not be feared, especially one that can and will never rise again. From this verse alone, it should also be obvious that he is in fact scared of you and what you hold within you (the Holy Spirit) that he tries to flee. He knows that if he tries to confront you, you will hit back insanely with the power of Jesus Christ within you. All you have to do is speak to it as God spoke creation into existence.
