Day 3: I Am a Child of God

When Christians believe in Jesus and invite Him into their lives, while it’s true that they are given brand spirits, guaranteeing them a place in His Kingdom in the after-life, that’s not the only thing bequeathed to them.

Some Christians, by virtue of them not being told (it’s a knowledge problem!), don’t understand that while they look the same, feel the same, sound the same, along with a brand new spirit, they received the highest honor – that of being adopted into the God’s family.

To anyone who believes in Jesus, God is not just God. The truth of the matter: God has become Father — The One who never leaves nor forsakes. The One who adopted us. No one forced Him. He chose to choose us and made us His own.

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

Romans 8:15-16

Today, know that your place in the family of God is sure, permanent and eternal because what Jesus did on the cross is sure, permanent and eternal. You are a child of God and He is your Abba Father.
