Day 8: God Wants to Bless You With Much More in This World
FALSE NOTION of GOD’s TIMELINE to bless:
There are born again believers today who think God is only concerned on prospering them in the next life and not in this present life.
They think that God is against them having more than enough in this present life.
SCRIPTURAL TRUTH:
Hebrews 1:3 says that Jesus is the express image of The Father and Jesus Himself also said in John 14:9 that whoever has seen Him has seen The Father and in John 5:19, Jesus said that The Son can do nothing of Himself but what He sees The Father do; for whatever He does, The Son also does in like manner.
This means that whatever Jesus does and says are expressions of God The Father Himself.
Mark 10:29-30 records something that Jesus said which clarifies that God does want to prosper His children both in this present life and in the next.
Notice that Jesus gave us two timelines? First – “now in this time” and Second – “in the age to come”.
Clearly, Jesus wants to make a distinction to rule out any ambiguity. Jesus said:
NOW IN THIS TIME (which means life in this world) — houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecution (which means people defaming or accusing you of being worldly).
IN THE AGE TO COME (which means the next life) — eternal life which is the life of the Eternal God. Eternal life is not just eternal existence (because even those who go to hell will exist eternally) but life with God (a life devoid of pain and lack and sickness and hunger and all the curses of this world).
Jesus spoke of blessings of prosperity now in this time and in the age to come. Jesus is the express image of The Father which means God The Father blesses “now in this time” and “in the age to come” everyone who believes in Jesus Christ.
Father, thank You that You have expressed Your heart through Your Son Jesus. Thank You that You promised through Jesus’ words that You bless everyone who believes in Him much more even a hundredfold in this present life even with the eternal life that You also promise through Jesus. Thank You, Lord God. Amen!
