Day 8: Death Has Lost Its Grip On Me. Jesus Christ, My Living Hope!
The wages of sin is death. When Adam fell, all of creation fell with him and we all came under a death sentence.
Every single one that came after Adam was subject to death and came under the curse. In the old covenant, people had to sacrifice animals but the blood of bulls and goats could not cleanse them from Adam’s sin. It was only able to cover sin for one year.
Until, God, who so loves the world sent His Son to die as the ultimate sacrifice, whose blood alone, the blood of the Eternal God Himself, is able to cleanse from sins eternally, permanently, forever.
Jesus died in our place and conquered death. Everyone who believes in Him becomes a new creation, one that death has no grip on because when Jesus rose from the dead, death was swallowed up in His victory, death lost its sting and Hades is left in defeat.
Hallelujah for Jesus! He is not a dead victor. Jesus is alive and victorious; and because He is, so are we.
Come join us as we raise our voices to the tune of Living Hope by Bethel Music and worship our living hope, JESUS CHRIST, who set us free!
How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation, I turned to heaven
And spoke Your name into the night
Then through the darkness, Your loving-kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished, the end is written
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Who could imagine so great a mercy?
What heart could fathom such boundless grace?
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken, I am forgiven
The King of kings calls me His own
Beautiful Savior, I’m Yours forever
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence, the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
