Day 5: I Resist You Coronavirus; Flee from Me and My Family in Jesus’ Name
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7 (NIV)
Did you know that as Christ-believers, we are commanded to resist the devil? It is our duty and obligation to withstand, repel, and counter the devil. Realize that to resist the devil is active in nature. What this means: we have to constantly and deliberately use the authority that is already imparted to us, all because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross, to combat the enemy. And that includes the coronavirus!
Sadly, the body of Christ has languished, losing its ability to trample on the power of the enemy. We have been duped, even led to believe that this pandemic is an act of God. As a result, we’re not standing up against it; we’re not countering its force.
This pandemic is NOT God’s doing! It is the devil’s tactic to attack and destroy God’s prized possession – His people. Now, it is up to us, all of God’s beloved – you and I, to affirm and declare that the devil is already a defeated foe, by using our mandate over Satan. Let us resist the devil and he won’t have a choice but flee from our midst!
Are you fearful that the coronavirus might plague you or your family next? Yes, in the physical realm, continue doing the right things: social distancing, stay at home, perform regular hand hygiene, wear a mask, and other interventions to limit the spread of the coronavirus. But in the spiritual realm, let us wield our authority over the enemy, resist against the devil and declare Jesus’ blood over this situation. There is no need to worry: Because of Jesus’ finished work, our victory over the coronavirus is assured. And it’s only a matter of time!
Prayer for Today:
Father, empower me to be bold in my actions and words, to constantly and deliberately resist the devil. Remind me always of what Jesus did on the cross on my behalf – that by His one perfect sacrifice, He has forever defeated all the power of the enemy. Let me realize, through the leading of the Holy Spirit, that the same evil-destroying power that raised Jesus from the dead is always alive in me. I only need to believe – that I have it! Prompt me to utilize this freely given authority, as I actively withstand the devil. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
Faith in Action:
1) Realize that the devil is a defeated foe. Resist the devil. All throughout today, and every day, declare as often as you possibly can:
I resist you, coronavirus; flee from me and my family in Jesus’ Name.
2) Invite other Christ-believers to do the 21-Day Challenge. Let us build an army of well-abled and spiritually-ready soldiers in this battle. The more spiritual soldiers we have, the faster the victory manifests in the physical realm. #21daystovictory
3) Come back every day, be refreshed and motivated, in a community of like-minded Christ-believers. Share your experiences and testimonies with others, as we win this fight!
