Day 13: The Gates of Hell are Broken in the Name of Jesus!

“And I say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

Matthew 16:18 (NKJV)

Here are the original Greek words of what was used in the verse above:

Peter is the word “petros” meaning little stone or little rock; the ones scattered on the road. Rock is the word “petra” meaning huge rock boulder; like the one you see in pictures of Petra, Jordan, where carvings on a boulder had been abruptly stopped. Same word used in Matthew 7:24-25.

In essence, Jesus was NOT saying that a church was to be built on Peter. NO. Far from it. Peter is NOT the Messiah.

Rather, Jesus (The Rock) says to Peter (the little stone) and to every true born again christian today (the living “petros” or living “stones”):

You are a living “petros” stone and when you collectively stand on the “Petra” Rock of the revelation that Jesus is The Christ (Messiah/Saviour/Anointed One), you will be a church that can march into strongholds of hell and its gates will never stand against you.

Collectively, as living stones grounded on Jesus, The Rock, we can ram against the gates of hell or in today’s context, the gates of the stronghold created by the coronavirus pandemic and these shall not prevail against us, the church.

We stand on The Rock of the church and declare His victory through the cross against the gates of Hades.

Prayer for Today:

Jesus, You are The True Rock of our salvation. We build our faith on You and You alone. We declare Your victory against the powers of darkness.

We declare Your death, Your burial and Your resurrection against the principalities and powers behind this coronavirus pandemic and we declare satan and his army defeated by the blood of the Lamb in the name of Jesus. Amen!

Faith in Action:

1) Know that Jesus is the True Rock and it is only by Him being the Messiah do we have power against the gates of Hades and we declare in Jesus:

The gates of hell are broken in the name of Jesus!

2) Invite other Christ-believers to do the 21-Day Challenge. Let us build an army of well-abled and spiritually-ready soldiers in this battle. The more spiritual soldiers we have, the faster the victory manifests in the physical realm.  #21daystovictory

3) Come back every day, be refreshed and motivated, in a community of like-minded Christ-believers. Share your experiences and testimonies with others, as we win this fight!
