Day 10: By Jesus’ Cross, Coronavirus, You’re Already Defeated

And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He [Jesus] made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Colossians 2:15 (NIV)

Jesus’ cross is the greatest symbol of God’s demonstration of His love for us, His people. It is also the most evident symbol of Jesus’ glorious victory over the enemy; a testament of how the foe is already defeated and destroyed!

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). The main ingredient here for anyone to receive this tremendous promise of everlasting life is ONLY to believe – not our being good or obedient, and not even through our works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Everything is through Jesus’ once-and-for-all perfect action on the cross (Hebrews 10:1-18). And all we have to do to receive this reality in our lives is to believe (Acts 16:31).

Is it really that simple? It is! That’s the simplicity of the gospel.

Sadly, religion has made what Jesus Christ did in us, for us and with us complicated – by adding layers of do’s and dont’s in the process. The gospel of Christ warns us NOT to add anything to the free gift of eternal life freely given to those who believe. Realize that when we add anything (through our works) to what Jesus did – and it’s already perfect, we’re indirectly saying that what He did was not really enough or sufficient (Galatians 3:10-11).

Having this sure foundation of our faith, we can then be bold – right now at this very moment, to wield the power and authority of Jesus Christ in our lives. We can brandish Jesus’ cross, and His resurrection from the dead as proof that He’s conquered them all – including already defeating the devil and its schemes. For us, we only have to declare by faith that Jesus has conquered the pandemic and the cause of it – the coronavirus. That is the reality of born-again Christ-believers!

The question now for us: Are we actively using our God-given power and authority to enforce what’s already ours based on Jesus’ finished work on the cross? If not, friends, I’m encouraging and empowering you today to do just that!

Prayer for Today:

Father, I thank you for Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. He’s done it all, on my behalf, so that today, I can have it all – including the power and authority to cast and rebuke the devil and its schemes, including this coronavirus. Empower me, God, through the leading of the Holy Spirit, for me to realize what I already got based on Jesus’ sacrifice, death and resurrection. Allow me to enforce the victory of the risen Lord over my life, my family’s lives and the community as a whole. I pray all of this, in the Name of Jesus, Amen!

Faith in Action:

1) Use the name of Jesus to stop the pandemic in its tracks and use the name of Jesus to loose The Father’s anointing of healing into the earth as you declare:

By Jesus’ cross, coronavirus, you’re already defeated!

2) Invite other Christ-believers to do the 21-Day Challenge. Let us build an army of well-abled and spiritually-ready soldiers in this battle. The more spiritual soldiers we have, the faster the victory manifests in the physical realm. #21daystovictory

3) Come back every day, be refreshed and motivated, in a community of like-minded Christ-believers. Share your experiences and testimonies with others, as we win this fight!
